Every morning, make a habit of creating new habits. These habits will eventually shape your every day. Too often, we get caught up in our normal way of living ... bad habit after bad habit. The mistake most make is trying to "change those bad habits." Instead, focus only on the new habits you wish to create.

90% of everything we do is habit-based. Take an honest look at your every move, ask yourself what's holding you back, and figure out what new habit will help you turn a corner. Very often, we know what we're doing that's not allowing us to reach another level, but rarely commit to creating something new. This is a decision that must be made before any type of change can manifest. You need to want the new more than you enjoy the comfort of the old.

What new habits will allow you to push past the daily barriers you regularly face? When you wake up tomorrow, what will you do, think, or change in your belief system that you didn't yesterday?

Decide To Sacrifice

This is a guest post by Marty Hamm

Name your long term and short term goals. Do you know what you'll need to do in order to achieve them? You may have somewhat of an idea. Now, think of the things that you will CHOOSE to give up in order reach those goals. A little harder, right? Choosing to sacrifice is easier said than done. No one in their right minds would want to give up something that they're accustomed to having, but sometimes we have to do it so that we can get to where we want to be.

Everything worth having requires some type of sacrifice, no matter if it's big or small. You have to be prepared to let it go so that you'll have room for the new things in your life. There's a reason why only a small percentage of people in the world are successful - they realize that sacrifice is not an option, it's a must! You may have to give up time, money, relationships, freedom, sleep, your youth, and even some other aspirations, but in the end it'll work out and all be worth it.

You can have it all. You just have to be willing to give it your all.

I Don't Have That Luxury

To become the 1% - to share in that type of greatness, you absolutely must do what they're not doing ... period! If you're unwilling to risk more, set loftier goals, and decide to be fearless, 99% will be your destiny. Check this ...

Zip It!

Stop talking about it ...

Too many focus on how sexy it would be to "make it" (whatever that means - we never make it, we only get better at it). Not enough > 1%, actually < do what it takes to grab ahold of what they want. That small percentage understand that talking gets them nowhere except where they were yesterday.

When will you make the committed decision to stop dreaming about a better life, game, or business? I'm not preaching from a place higher than thou ... I used to be that talker - that wannabe, who only wished for another level. These last few years, however, I've come to realize that my talk was masking the fear that absorbed my every thought. I "kinda wanted" a new level for myself, but wasn't willing to cut away my safety net. I had to get sick of what I saw in the mirror everyday, and CHOOSE a new place - a fearlessness that would reign.

No one can make this decision for you. I can hope to inspire and motivate you to a place where you choose in a quicker fashion, but only that reflection can make it happen. So, let me ask you again: When will you stop hoping and begin acting? When will you start defining your life by the walls you smash, rather than wishes you make?

Stop talking about it ... stop dreaming about it ... stop making plans for it's arrival. Start doing. Now.

Poker Strategy Crosses Over

It's such a simple equation: If you believe more more intensely than they do ... you win! If you live / play fearlessly and they doubt ... you can't lose. The long term understanding of this process is crucial for the 1% way of living.

What Do You Choose?

This picture explains exactly what I teach every day - self belief beyond all evidence. Knowing it WILL happen before evidence appears is what separates the great from the good.

99% will say your goals are too "unrealistic." They want you to believe that it's better for your confidence if you create goals that you're guaranteed to reach. This type of thinking is what keeps most in the same spot, year after year. To live the 1% lifestyle, you must think, act, and believe on a level most say IS unrealistic.

Before anything manifests, it must be imagined with emotional intensity almost unmeasurable. Goals need to be mentally accomplished before ever surfacing, physically. This isn't easy and most will say it can't be done. What will you decide is the truth? What do you choose to be realistic?

Weekend Separation

The majority view Saturday and Sunday as days to rest from the grind of the week. This is where you separate from them - you work, they don't ... you win! Period!

What's Your Excuse

You think it's too tough, it'll take too much work, or you'll have to sacrifice too many things? Are you afraid of failing or what others will say about your goals? What's your excuse?

Do you want to quit your current job, but are afraid of not making ends meet in the short term? Do you hate feeling uncomfortable - being placed in situations where you're not in control? What's your excuse?

John Changed My Life

Who you hang out with is who you'll eventually become. Know this. Understand this. Live this. Surround yourself with like-minded people who think, act, and believe as passionately as you do.

This man completely changed my path ...

Now What?!

When plans don't go as scheduled and after you've been kicked to the ground for the 100th time ... what will you do? There are only two possible choices -- feel sorry for yourself or look in the mirror and ask, "Now What?!" What choices will you make after they say you won't get it done? What part of your game plan will you adjust? You only have two choices ...

Want vs. Need

To become the 1% and taste the type of success you deserve, you must make the distinction between desire and absolute commitment towards the goal. To want isn't enough ... there must be an almost desperate need to attain your long term dreams.

It's Your Time

Aren't you tired of reading about other people's 1% success stories. When will you decide that it's time they read about yours? Today is THAT day where you choose to do whatever it takes to make it happen. What does your plan look like? What will you do to attain it?

Go take it!

No Days Off

Yes, it's Sunday ... where most people are resting, I'm working. I'm posting here, Tweeting, posting on my Facebook page, or recording audio tracks for you.

M-F aren't work days for me. Every minute that I'm awake, I'm doing SOMETHING to get me closer to my goals. 99% need the rest because they're not totally immersed in the passion that is the "grind." If you're trying to get to that next level, first ... stop trying. Second, do more than you think is necessary. No Days Off.

Total Immersion

Why do I post here, Twitter, and my Facebook page every day? Why do I make these audio tracks for you every day? Why do I go to sleep visualizing my 1% successful future? Why do I wake up every morning focused on what has to be done that day in order to get closer to my goals?

The answer is simple ...

When Will You?

I used to think of Fridays as the day where "I made it!" I got through the week, and now it's time to kick my feet up and watch the game. Let me rest until Monday, where I'll start the grind all over again.

Unfortunately, this is where 99% of people live their weeks. The 1% have learned otherwise ...

Your Perception Dictates ...

How you view each moment of your day is completely dictated by your perception of that moment. It's been said over and over, yet the majority still don't thoroughly understand the power of this concept. Do you see fear of failure or love for opportunity?

Decide that this will be your priority!

Fact vs. Fiction

There's a very fine line and delicate balance between what's true and what's fiction during your climb towards excellence. These often crossover, creating confusion and doubt in your attempt to become 1%.

Let's make this clear ... fact is everything you think, say, believe, and decide. Fiction is what they think, say, believe, and decide - never confuse the two. What they think about your journey and belief system is fiction in your every day actions. The negativity they spew about your decisions to excel past mediocrity is their opinion, therefore making it fiction in your life.

Looking in the mirror, asking the important questions, and listening to the answers is how you define fact on your path. Expect them to try and convince you to think of their opinions as fact, but beware of the illusion. Their attempts to pull you down from the top rung of the ladder come from their own insecurities and fears. Know this as fact!

Fact vs. Fiction -- what will you believe?

Do Now, Have Later

Do what you must now so you can have what you want later! Whether it's about having to go to school, studying, or taking final exams, you must do it now, in order to get your degree later. If you want to master your craft, you must put in the hours of pain, struggle, and sacrifice now. That temporary frustration will lead you to what you want to achieve later.

There's a short term game that must be played. It's a test of your will, passion, and discipline. If achieving everything you want was easy, it wouldn't feel as special when it finally manifests. The 1% success stories have mastered this equation.

When you choose to focus on what you WILL in the future ... the now becomes automatic!

Move-Over Monday ...

The majority of people view Monday as "the beginning;" the day after the weekend, where the week starts all over again - back to the grind! The 1% look at this day, not as start over, but rather ...

"Move over, I'm comin! Get out of my way!"

Use Monday as a separation day, knowing the majority are struggling to fight through, wishing the weekend would arrive again. The trick isn't waiting for Monday to make this mindset switch. Make the committed decision to always look for ways to gain an advantage over the pack. What are they doing, saying, and thinking that can be exploited? What should you do that will counter them, creating an instant separation? Choose to immerse yourself in this process, daily.

Take it!

The Weekend's For Separating ...

All the research and study I've done on success, and how the elite's mindset differs from the rest indicates their passion won't allow for rest. They understand that hours of intense focus and a willingness to go beyond the normal definition of "realistic" is how they separate from mediocrity.

This ultimately means that weekends aren't a time for sighs and vacations, but instead, an opportunity to build on the momentum created during the week. The 99% believe the complete opposite. Be the 1%.

Take it!

Words Aren't Enough

There's nothing anyone can say that will make you decide mediocrity should no longer be a part of your life. You must choose greatness over average, and you must understand what it FEELS like.

Emotionally connect to your long term goals. Don't just see it happening, feel it from the inside-out. When you visualize your future achievements, emotionally connect to the excitement of the opportunity!

Activate!

Here's an audio track I recorded, focusing on 1% Action. Stop talking about it ... go get it.

Inspiration is important. Motivation is mandatory. Activation separates!

You Will ...

Please, please stop waking up every morning, focused on what you don't have! What do you have? What will you achieve in the future, and how will you get closer to making it happen today?

Fall asleep every night, visualizing in emotional detail, what you will manifest in the future. Don't worry about "how it'll happen," only see the finished product. See it in such amazing color, your mind won't know if you're using your imagination or if it's really taking place.

Every day, when you wake up, take 5 minutes to imagine yourself in that place of success ... whatever that means for you. Start your morning in a peak state of emotion, pumped up and ready to go get it. The 1% success stories believe it'll happen before it happens, and no one can make them see it any other way!

It Doesn't Have To Be ...

Complicated:

1. Composed of elaborately interconnected parts; complex: complicated apparatus for measuring brain functions.

2. Difficult to analyze, understand, explain, etc: a complicated problem.

1% Success isn't.

Your process doesn't have to be.

Keep it simple.

Make your long term vision as clear as the the reflection in the mirror. Decide nothing will stop you from achieving what you see.

Dedicate your every day to working, excuse-free.

Only you can stop you!
